We Are
Mission Statement
Oregon
Campus Compact promotes civic and community engagement as
a core educational approach for student development as citizens,
leaders and lifelong learners.
To
this end, it encourages, supports and leverages the work of
institutions to educate responsible citizens and caring leaders
through service by:

Functioning as a statewide coalition of college and
university presidents and their institutions;
*
Serving as a catalyst for institutions to create curricular
and co-curricular community engagement opportunities for students
that enrich student learning and develop the skills and habits
of citizenship;
*
Encouraging the engagement of faculty in community-based scholarship
that addresses societal concerns;
*
Fostering the development of collaborative partnerships among
campuses and with communities across Oregon;
*
Supporting civic and community engagement by cultivating
and encouraging open discourse on issues and values.
