safety procedures
ORCC is committed to the safety of our Members. Specific safety procedures will be addressed both during general orientation as well as during your site orientation. In general, if any Member feels he or she is in imminent danger while serving at their site or off-site he or she should call 911 or the local police.
Any injury while serving—no matter how small—must be reported immediately to your supervisor and receive first-aid attention. Serious conditions often arise from small injuries if they are not cared for at once.
In less urgent situations the Member should:
1) Consult with his or her supervisor about the concern
2) Let ORCC know of the safety concern so we can address it with other Members, if necessary
3) Avoid the location, activity, or person that is making the Member feel unsafe until after speaking with his or her supervisor and ORCC.
The Member’s supervisor and/or ORCC should be able to address all safety concerns and work with the Member to create a plan of action.
For specific concerns, Members are encouraged to contact their supervisors and ORCC.
