DECEMBER & SPRING IST

Dates TBD

Campus Compact In-Service Trainings (ISTs) occur three times a year and are a required engagement for all currently serving AmeriCorps Members to attend. At ISTs, we ground in theory and lived experience, while exploring new or deepening professional skills, with the goal of supporting Members in building equitable education programs that better address the needs of and serve the communities they are working with. Check out the important IST information below, and feel free to reach out to Campus Compact Staff and Leaders if you have more questions!

CHILDCARE
Childcare is provided by Campus Compact for Members and Staff during IST. Parents and children will be offered a private room on-site. Providers will also be asked to stay on-site with us, and are paid to provide childcare during all main and breakout sessions at $150/day. Meals are of course included.

If you are attending IST and have a preferred childcare provider, please refer them our way as we prioritize existing relationships! Otherwise, Campus Compact will suggest/select a provider and offer all parents the opportunity to meet them in advance. Please don't forget to send along your child's allergies, dietary accommodations, and any other notes on what would make the experience best for them!

TRANSPORTATION

In an effort to cut down costs as well as environmental impact, Campus Compact arranges a carpool amongst Members and Staff to In-Service trainings. Due to limited funds, Member Drivers are only reimbursed if A) they are willing and selected to be a Driver in the carpool or B) live in an area where they are the only serving Member. Reimbursements are calculated by miles traveled at the federal mileage rate and are sent at the next scheduled check-run after IST (check in with staff at specific date).

If you are in an area where no other Members are located and/or are unable to transport yourself to IST, Campus Compact will work with you to ensure you have a transportation plan and pay for your expenses. This usually means purchasing a bus or flight ticket.

LODGING AND MEALS
All Members and Staff are required to stay at the training site during In-Service Trainings. While children of Members or Staff are invited to attend, additional guests are not allowed. Generally, rooms and bathrooms are shared. It will be communicated if bedding is provided or if sites request guests to bring themselves. Campus Compact can rent bedding sets for attendees if needed!

Meals are also provided for Members and Staff during IST, beginning with lunch on the first day and ending with lunch on the final day. We send dietary information and allergies to sites in advance, so be sure to send yours our way! We also provide snacks and  encourage folx to bring snacks themselves if they are able, would like to, and/or have concerns about their dietary needs being met.
