How To Apply
The first stage of the selection process are recruitment fairs. At the fairs, candidates learn about placement sites and meet ORCC staff members for a short interview.
Based on your interview, ORCC will decide whether you are a good fit for the ORCC Summer VISTA program. If so, we will forward your resume to select placement sites. We will inform you of your status within a week of the recruitment fair. After reviewing your resume, the sites will decide whether to interview you. Sites will contact you to setup interviews. Advancing to the second stage does not guarantee that you will be placed at a site; and, though we will try to accommodate your preferences, you are not guaranteed an interview with your top choices.
After conducting interviews, the sites will choose their top candidates and inform ORCC of their choices. If a site wishes to host you, ORCC will propose this to the Oregon State Office of the Corporation for National and Community Service (the organization that oversees AmeriCorps). If the State Office approves, ORCC will formally offer you the position.
