Connect2Complete
Connect2Complete (C2C) Community College is focused on improving graduation rates for Oregon community college students through community-engaged learning and service. C2C Community College empowers students in developmental education classes to complete their required coursework more quickly, to reach their educational goals, and to ultimately graduate with a certificate or degree. ORCC is placing several minimum time (300hr) and full-time (1700 hr) AmeriCorps members at five community college campuses throughout Oregon. They will be selected from the enrolled student body at each campus and will work with developmental education faculty to build community-engaged learning into DE curriculum and serve as peer advocates for DE students.
Connect2Complete (C2C) K12 is focused on improving attendance rates and school engagement in K-12 schools through peer advocacy. Connect2Complete K12 members work closely with students, school staff and families to create and implement interventions to address chronic absenteeism. ORCC is placing several minimum time (300hr) and full-time (1700 hr) AmeriCorps members in K-12 schools across Multnomah County. C2C K12 AmeriCorps members are primarily recruited from Portland area colleges and universities, though anyone who meets the minimum qualifications is welcome to apply regardless of student status. ORCC's Connect2Complete Community College program model is based on a national Campus Compact program funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, which is operating in Washington, Ohio, and Florida.
