2009 4th Annual ORCC Civic Engagement Awards

EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT

AND

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

Oregon Campus Compact will hold the fourth annual Civic Engagement Awards on April 23, 2009 in Portland. The statewide Civic Engagement Awards program was established to recognize and elevate the visibility of the powerful community/university partnerships that are having measurable impact on the livability of communities across the state. The awards also provide a venue to highlight the amazing commitment of students and faculty to addressing issues in the communities in which they live and learn.

We are proud to announce that the theme for this year’s Civic Engagement Awards is Engagement in Sustainability. As the only organization in Oregon that works with colleges and universities to promote civic engagement and to foster connections between the institutions and their communities, we are deeply committed to sustainability, service, and the greater purpose of generational stewardship that links the two ideas.

The 2009 awards, Engagement in Sustainability, will be held in Portland, Oregon on Thursday, April 23, 2009. Nominations are currently being accepted through Friday, March 18, 2009.
