2008 3rd Annual ORCC Civic Engagement Awards
Oregon Campus Compact annually recognizes the exceptional service and leadership of our members and partners around the state at our Civic Engagement Awards Celebration. We are pleased to be able to honor the exemplary student leaders, faculty members, and community partners who demonstrate an outstanding commitment to service and civic engagement.
Student Award Recipient:
Yvonne Norman, Portland Community College
The Faith Gabelnick Student Leadership Award is presented to the student in the state who has demonstrated outstanding leadership through service on his or her campus and in the community.
Faculty Award Recipient:
Kim Smith, Portland Community College
The Judith Ramaley Faculty Award For Community-Based Learning is presented to a faculty member who has demonstrated exceptional leadership and vision in promoting community service within their teaching and scholarship.
Community Partner Award Recipients:
Catholic Community Services of Lane County, nominated by Lane Community College
and
Holy Redeemer Catholic Grade School, nominated by Portland State University
The Dan Moriarty Community Partner Award is presented to a community organization who has demonstrated a sustained commitment to educating students for lifelong citizenship.
