Cascade Climate Network
The Cascade Climate Network is a regional network of Northwest youth united to end the climate crisis and build a sustainable, just, and prosperous future for all. The Network consists of students and youth from across Oregon and Washington who are actively working to address climate change in their regions, states and schools.
The Cascade Climate Network was founded in October 2007 at a retreat on the flanks of Mt. Hood. Ten Northwest colleges and universities were represented at our foundational retreat; the Network is now active at nearly 20 campuses across Oregon and Washington

McMinnville Water and Light
McMinnville Water and Light’s partnership with Linfield College has been pivotal in creating a more sustainable Linfield by both assisting in lowering Linfield’s operating costs and the campus’ environmental impact. These projects also serve as a model to other businesses and organizations throughout the community to encourage similar practices and collaboration to decrease our carbon footprint.
Evidence of the Impacts of MW&L and Linfield partnership projects:
· Replaced 10,500 inefficient fluorescent to newer lower wattage T8 fluorescent lamps
· Replaced 4,000 inefficient magnetic ballasts to high efficiency electronic ballasts
· Replaced 1,500 incandescent lamps to compact fluorescents.
· Added 500 light motion sensors.
· Reduced kilowatts per square foot 11%
Over the last decade, MWL was instrumental in assisting Linfield to attain the following:
· Reduced lighting cost by $405,186
· Paid Linfield $258,656 in cash rebates for energy conservation work.
· Responsible for lowering electrical consumption in Linfield residential housing by 15% through building envelope insulation. The entire project was free to Linfield.
